Returns and Warranty Policy
Effective from: 1 May 2026
1. 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee
At EV Charge (Pty) Ltd (“EV Charge”), we stand behind our products. If you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase, we offer a 14-day money-back guarantee. This guarantee applies to all EV charging products purchased directly from www.evcharge.co.za.
1.1 Eligibile Returns
Your return is eligible if:
– The product is returned within 14 calendar days of purchase
– The product is in as-new, unused condition with no signs of wear, damage, or Wi-Fi pairing
– Original packaging is intact and undamaged
– All original accessories and documentation are included
– The product has not been installed or modified in any way
1.2 Non-Eligible Returns
– Products outside the 14-day return window
– Damaged, used, or installed products
– Products with missing or damaged packaging
– Items purchased from unauthorised resellers
1.3 How to Initiate a Return
– Contact us and provide your order number and reason for return
– We will provide return shipping instructions
– Pack securely in original packaging for return shipping
– Once received, we will inspect the product within 5 business days
– Eligible refunds are processed within 5 business days
2. EV Charge Limited Warranty
EV Charge products include a 12 or 24-month limited warranty from the purchase date, as stated in the product specification. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
2.1 What We Warranty
– Manufacturing defects (faulty components, poor assembly)
– Failures due to normal use and operation
– Defective cables, connectors, and electrical components
2.2 What We Do NOT Warranty
The warranty does not cover damage or defects resulting from:
– Incorrect installation, wiring, earthing, circuit protection, or non-compliant electrical work
– Installation by an unqualified person, or without the required CoC
– Misuse, negligence, accidents, abuse, modification, tampering, cable mishandling, or use outside the product specifications (including environmental ratings/IP rating)
– Normal wear and tear or cosmetic damage that doesn’t affect function
– Power quality issues, lightning, surges, grid instability, or external electrical faults
2.3 Certificate of Conformance Requirement
For all EV Charging Station warranty claims, customers must provide a valid Certificate of Conformance (CoC) issued by a registered electrician, in line with South African electrical safety regulations. This certificate confirms that the EV Charging Station was installed correctly and safely. Warranty claims submitted without this certificate may be declined. This requirement ensures the safety of our customers and compliance with national standards.
2.4 Warranty Claim Process
Contact EV Charge and provide your invoice or order number as proof of purchase.
– Describe the issue in detail (when it started, how often it occurs, any error messages), serial number and photos if requested
– Attach a copy of the Certificate of Conformance (CoC) where applicable
– We will review your claim and may ask you to perform diagnostic tests
– If the issue is not resolved, you will receive return instructions
– Pack securely in original packaging (if available) for return shipment
2.5 Repair, Replacement or Refund
Returned products will be inspected and diagnosed upon receipt. If the warranty claim is approved, EV Charge will at it’s our sole discretion:
– repair the product; or
– replace the product with an identical unit; or
– replace the product with a similar or equivalent product if the original has been discontinued; or
– refund the price paid where a refund is agreed in writing.
2.6 Warranty Claims Timeline
– Inspection and warranty claim approval: 5 business days from receipt
– Repair/replacement: 5 business days
– Return shipment: 5 business days from completion
– Total typical process: Up to 3 weeks
2.7 Exclusions & Limitations
The warranty does NOT cover:
– Damage from improper installation or use
– Wear and tear from normal ageing
– Electrical faults in the customer’s home wiring or distribution board
– Power surges or electrical spikes
– Weather damage (unless product is rated for outdoor use)
– Improper storage or environmental exposure
– Damage from modifications or repairs by unauthorised parties
– Labour costs for installation or removal
2.8 Our Liability
– EV Charge’s total liability is limited to the purchase price of the product
– EV Charge shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
– This warranty is the customer’s sole remedy and supersedes all other warranties
3. South African Law
This policy is governed by South African law and the South African Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 (“CPA”). EV Charge complies fully with the CPA’s consumer rights provisions.
4. Unauthorised Products
Products purchased from unauthorised resellers are not covered by this warranty. We recommend purchasing directly from evcharge.co.za or authorised retailers only.
5. Changes to Policy
EV Charge reserves the right to update this policy at any time. Changes apply to purchases made after the update date.
